Fields (Practices & Games)

Games will be played at George Washington University fields (formerly PSINet) AND Chop Tank Field. Directions are as follows:

 

GWU Fields

 

·         Field 1: Nearest GWU Academic Bldg #2

·         Field 3: (w/soccer goals)

The George Washington University Virginia Campus is located in Loudoun County, inside of the University Center complex in Ashburn, Virginia. The Campus is conveniently located off of Route 7, one mile west of Route 28, five miles north of Dulles International Airport, 12 miles west of Tysons Corner, and eight miles east of historic Leesburg. The campus is linked to Washington, D.C. via Route 28, the Dulles Toll Road (Route 267), and Interstate 66. Parking is free.

Directions

From Downtown Washington Via I-66 Connecting with the Dulles Toll Road (Route 267)

Cross the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge and proceed west on I-66 for approximately 8 miles. Take Exit 67 towards Dulles Airport (This is a right lane exit, just past the Sycamore Street/Falls Church Exit). Continue along this road, following signs for "Route 267, To All Local Exits." Stay in the right two lanes. When you come to the Y, veer right towards "Route 267, To All Local Exits." Follow signs that indicate "267 Toll West" and "267 West, To All Local Exits." Do NOT exit left onto the "No Toll Dulles Access Road" (which runs parallel to the Toll Road). Go through the toll booth (50 cents).

***Continue approximately 11 miles to Exit 9B, Route 28 North-- Sully Road (last exit before the airport). Go through the toll booth (35 cents). Proceed approximately 5 miles. Route 28 connects (and ends) at Route 7. Follow signs to Route 7 West to Leesburg (stay left).

After merging onto Route 7 stay in the right lane. Go approximately 1 mile to the second traffic signal and turn right onto Presidential Drive (The corner will be marked by a low brick wall designating University Center).

For Academic Building 2 (AB2), 44983 Knoll Square, Ashburn, VA 20147. Continue along Presidential Blvd., until you come to the first intersection. Make a right onto George Washington Blvd, right onto Bridgefield Way, and another right onto Knoll Square. Make a left into the parking lot. Academic Building 2 is a four-story brick building (204,000 square feet).

From I-495 Connecting with the Dulles Toll Road

Coming from the south (Virginia) - at Tysons Corner take Exit 45 - Dulles Toll Road (a left lane exit). Pick up directions from third paragraph (***) above.

Coming from the north (Maryland) - at Tysons Corner take Exit 45A - Dulles Toll Road (a right lane exit). Pick up directions from third paragraph (***) above.

Using Route 7 West (Leesburg Pike) from Tysons Corner

Proceed west on Route 7 approximately 12 miles from Tysons Corner past Reston Parkway, Dranesville Road, Sterling Blvd. and Countryside Blvd. Continue past the Route 28 Dulles Airport Exit. After passing underneath the bridge, go approximately 1 mile to the second traffic signal, Presidential Blvd. Turn right.

From Leesburg, Purcellville, & Points West Via Route 7 East

The GW Virginia Campus is approximately 8 miles east of Leesburg, off of Route 7 East. Near Leesburg make sure to stay on Route 7 East towards Tysons Corner, not Rt. 15, or the business district. After you pass Ashburn Village on the right and Janella Farms on the left, move to the far left lane. Look for the sign for GW Virginia Campus next left (sign on the right side of the road) and a low brick wall designating University Center. Turn left at the light onto Presidential Boulevard.

SPRING 2007 PROGRAM INFORMATION

 

PLAYER CLINIC RESCHEDULED!

 

Due to inclement weather, the Player Skill Clinic, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, April 15th, has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 20th.

 

We look forward to seeing everyone on opening day on Saturday, April 21st.

 

MANDATORY PLAYER CLINIC: The coaches have primary responsibility for facilitating the clinic in their respective age groups with leadership from Rob Smart, Vision Sports (www.visionsports4u.com).

 

Scheduled for this Sunday, May 20th, the purpose of the clinic is to build individual skills and knowledge of the game. Our goal is 100% participation from the players.

TIMEFRAMES FOR EACH AGE GROUP: Please have your child attend only during the hours noted for their age group:

 

  • 9a -11a, Little Pro: 6-8 year olds

  • 11:30a -1:30p, Junior Pro: 9-11 year olds

  • 2p - 4p, Pro: 12-14 year olds

  • 2p - 4p, High School, 15-17 year olds

 

The program for each age group follows:

 

  • 45 minutes - Warm-up/Agilities/Sprints

  • 15 minutes - Change of Direction

  • 60 minutes - Offensive and Defensive Drills

 

Reid Roe, from Quarterback Camp 2K7, www.qpcamp.com, will also be assisting with the program, offering specialized expertise.

 

Concessions will be available on Sunday!

 

ATTIRE (this weekend and beyond for practices and games): Cleats are required, except for metal spikes. All players must wear a protective mouthpiece; there are no exceptions. Official

Officials Needed!

 

Due to overwhelming growth in the program, we are seeking additional officials Spring 07 season. High school kids wanting to officiate will be provided training. We are seeking adult officials as well! Email us to express your interest!

ATTIRE - Cleats are allowed, except for metal spikes. Inspections must be made. All players must wear a protective mouthpiece; there are no exceptions. Black mesh shorts are preferred. Shorts with pockets are illegal.

 

RULES & EQUIPMENT - Official NFL Flag jerseys must be worn during play. Get in gear with NFL team-identified jerseys and equipment. When you register with NFL FLAG you’ll receive:

• NFL reversible, team identified color jerseys

• NFL youth footballs (2 per team)

• NFL FLAG belts

REFUND REQUESTS - Refund requests must be received in writing by March 31, 2007 to: YPF REFUNDS, 37 Pidgeon Hill Drive, Suite #140, Sterling, Virginia 20165. A $5/player processing fee will be subtracted from all requested refunds received to March 14th. Refund requests received after this date will not be honored.

Refunds are not provided to registrants who withdraw based on YPF's inability to accommodate car pool, coach, player, or other other special requests.

CANCELLATIONS - YPF communicates decisions to cancel games due to inclement weather in a timely and efficient manner. Information regarding cancellations can be obtained from the website; your coach; or the voice mail at 703.724.9241.

 

PRACTICE SCHEDULE – The practice schedule will be provided to coaches via email.

 

BANQUETS - Coaches will coordinate banquets/year-end events for their respective teams.
